A thermally/chemically robust and easily regenerable anilato-based ultramicroporous 3D MOF for CO 2 uptake and separation

2021

The combination of the properly designed novel organic linker, 3,6-N-ditriazoyil-2,5-dihydroxy-1,4-benzoquinone (trz2An), with CoII ions results in a 3D ultramicroporous MOF with high CO2 uptake capacity and separation efficiency, with particular attention to CO2/N2 and CO2/CH4 gas mixtures. This material consists of 1D chains of octahedrally coordinated CoII ions linked through the anilato ligands in the equatorial positions and to the triazole substituents from two neighbouring chains in the two axial positions. This leads to a 3D microporous structure with voids with an affinity for CO2 molecules and channels that enable the selective entrance of CO2 but not of molecules with larger kine…

Noninvasive double confirmation of cocaine abuse.

2013

A double confirmation procedure, based on the combined application of Ion Mobility Spectrometry (IMS) and Infrared Spectroscopy (IR), has been developed for the noninvasive unambiguous identification of cocaine consume. The use of nasal mucus as a biological specimen for cocaine abuse confirmation has been proposed as an alternative to the use of blood and urine due to its noninvasive character and the presence of the parent compound instead of its metabolites. Sampling conditions, interferences caused by cutting agents and other substances, and limits of identification (LOI) and confirmation (LOC) have been deeply evaluated. The procedure combines the high sensitivity of the IMS to identif…

Structure Sensitivity of 2-Methyl-3-butyn-2-ol Hydrogenation on Pd: Computational and Experimental Modeling

2014

In the frame of DFT paradigms, the adsorption of 2-methyl-3-butyn-2-ol (MBY) and 2-methyl-3-buten-2-ol (MBE) on a Pd-30 cluster, including both {100} and {111} faces, was studied along with the pathways involved in the hydrogenation, taking place on plane and low coordination (corner/edge) sites of given MBY/Pd-30 and MBE/Pd-30 surface configurations. The calculated energetics, further validated by gas-phase and water-assisted gas-phase MBY and MBE hydrogenation, performed on well-defined size and shape-controlled Pd nanoparticles supported on SiO2, were able to explain the origin of the structure sensitivity and the high selectivity characterizing the title reaction when occurring in aqueo…

Halogenated derivatives of boldine with high selectivity for alpha1A-adrenoceptors in rat cerebral cortex.

1999

The selectivity of 3-nitrosoboldine and different halogenated derivatives of boldine (3-bromoboldine, 3,8-dibromoboldine and 3-chloroboldine) for alpha1-adrenoceptor subtypes was studied by examining [3H]-prazosin competition binding in rat cerebral cortex. In the competition experiments [3H]-prazosin binding was inhibited completely by all the compounds tested. The inhibition curves displayed shallow slopes which could be subdivided into high and low affinity components. The relative order of affinity and selectivity for alpha1A-adrenoceptors was 3-bromoboldine = 3,8-dibromoboldine = 3-chloroboldineboldine3-nitrosoboldine. The competition curves for 3-bromoboldine remained shallow and biph…

ChemInform Abstract: Bubble Fractionation of Enantiomers from Solution Using Molecularly Imprinted Polymers as Collectors.

2010

Adsorptive bubble separation methods have been used to enrich components from both heterogeneous and homogeneous solutions. These methods are particularly effective for processing large solution volumes at low cost. Previous work demonstrated that chiral, surface-active collectors could be used to enrich enantiomers from homogeneous solution in a foam fractionation process. In a significant extension of this work, the use of highly selective molecularly imprinted polymers (MIPs) and heterogeneous solutions for the bubble flotation of enantiomers was evaluated. The high selectivity and ease of recycling of the MIP make this a potentially powerful approach for process-scale separations from l…

Nanomaterial-based molecularly imprinted polymers for pesticides detection: Recent trends and future prospects

2020

Abstract Pesticides have been widely used in agricultural and industrial production to prevent pests. So, sensing pesticides with high selectivity and sensitivity level plays a significant role in food safety management. Molecularly imprinted polymer (MIP) based sensors overcome the current restriction of traditional detection approaches and offer great potential for efficient, low-cost and low detection limit using smart miniaturized equipment. But some drawbacks could come from the lack of electrocatalytic activity and conductivity of MIPs that restrict their utilization in the sensing field. The integration of NPs with MIPs has opened new ways for rapid screening and monitoring of pestic…

Narrowband digital filtering with random frequency hopping spread spectrum

2014

International audience; In digital signal filtering, channels with narrow bandwidth need high order digital filter to be selected without introducing modulation errors. If a carrier randomly switches from a channel to another as in military applications, or some civilian communication standards, it is necessary to detect and estimate these jumps before transposing and analyzing signals in the baseband. This paper presents a real time solution to filter narrow band signals with random frequency hopping spread spectrum. The proposed method is based on three steps. Firstly, the detection of Signal Frequency Hopping (SFH) using the Fast Fourier Transform (FFT), an algorithm to estimate the Domi…

3H-1,2-benzoxathiepine 2,2-dioxides: a new class of isoform-selective carbonic anhydrase inhibitors

2017

Abstract A new chemotype with carbonic anhydrase (CA, EC 4.2.1.1) inhibitory action has been discovered, the homo-sulfocoumarins (3H-1,2-benzoxathiepine 2,2-dioxides) which have been designed considering the (sulfo)coumarins as lead molecules. An original synthetic strategy of a panel of such derivatives led to compounds with a unique inhibitory profile and very high selectivity for the inhibition of the tumour associated (CA IX/XII) over the cytosolic (CA I/II) isoforms. Although the CA inhibition mechanism with these new compounds is unknown for the moment, we hypothesize that it may be similar to that of the sulfocoumarins, i.e. hydrolysis to the corresponding sulfonic acids which therea…

Straight Access to Indoles from Anilines and Ethylene Glycol by Heterogeneous Acceptorless Dehydrogenative Condensation.

2017

The development of original strategies for the preparation of indole derivatives is a major goal in drug design. Herein, we report the first straight access to indoles from anilines and ethylene glycol by heterogeneous catalysis, based on an acceptorless dehydrogenative condensation, under noninert conditions. In order to achieve high selectivity, a combination of Pt/Al2O3 and ZnO have been found to slowly dehydrogenate ethylene glycol generating, after condensation with the amine and tautomeric equilibrium, the corresponding pyrrole-ring unsubstituted indoles.

Optical grating recording in ChG thin film by electron beam

2013

Abstract Recording capabilities of As Se S chalcogenide (ChG) glasses using electron beam (EB) lithography have been investigated in this study. After exposure with EB the thin films of these inorganic glasses can be etched in alkaline amine solvent with high selectivity. High resolution, smooth shaped structures have been fabricated using ChG thin films. Height of developed pattern can be controlled through changing applied electron dose.
